Workspaces and billing accounts

Discontinue is organized on two levels. Workspaces are where teams work; billing accounts are where money lives. Keeping them apart is what lets one subscription cleanly pay for several teams.

Workspaces

A workspace is the container a team works in. Everything you use day to day is scoped to it:

  • Connections to your source systems
  • Chat conversations (shared: every member sees the workspace's conversations and who started each one)
  • Reports, agents, schedules, and their run history
  • Delivery channels
  • Members and their roles

Each member has a role per workspace (member, admin, or owner; see Team & roles). A user can belong to several workspaces and switch between them with the workspace switcher in the sidebar. Workspaces are fully isolated from each other: nothing is shared between them except the billing account that pays for them.

Billing accounts

A billing account sits above workspaces and holds everything financial:

  • The subscription and its plan
  • The prepaid AI credit wallet
  • The payment method and invoices (exactly one Stripe customer, no matter how many workspaces)

One billing account can pay for several workspaces, and plan capacity (workspaces, agents, reports, report runs) is pooled across all of them, not granted per workspace. A Pro account with two workspaces has 15 agent slots in total, split however you like. See Plans & AI credit.

Billing roles are separate from workspace roles

A billing account has exactly one owner and an optional list of billing admins, managed by email on the account's own page. These are independent of workspace membership: a workspace admin has no access to the billing account unless added here, and a billing admin does not automatically see any workspace.

Adding workspaces

The billing account owner can create additional workspaces (workspace switcher → New workspace) as long as the plan's workspace allowance has room. A new workspace starts empty, with its own connections, channels, reports, and members.

Where to find it

The billing account page is reached from any of its workspaces via Settings → Cost Management → Billing. It has four tabs:

  • Overview: current plan and AI credit balance, side by side.
  • Capacity: pooled plan allowances and how much of each is used.
  • Usage: AI spend in euros, across all workspaces on the account and broken down per workspace.
  • Account: the workspaces attached to the account, billing admins, and ownership.
